Birla Institute of Applied Science (BIAS) located in Bhimtal,Uttarakhand is the sister institute of Birla institute of Technlogy Mesra,Ranchi. It is affiliated to Uttrakhand Technical university.

It gives admissions through JEE mains . It currently has 60 seats in  both CSE and ECE.

BIAS is running on its name as it lacks in its infrastructure and does not have updated labs. The nature of the faculties is good but the are not much knowledgeable neither the will be able to deliver you much. ECE department is also not good at all and the CSE department will also not going to entertain much accept 2-3 faculties at higher posts. no cultural fest and extra co-curricular activities are held here. regarding to placements very few companies come here such as TCS, WIPRO,Infogain and gives the packages between 3.5lpa-5lpa. some good companies are also there which give packages upto 8.3lpa such as CapitalIQ,Aspiring minds,SAP but very few students could make their way to such companies. mostly you have to study by your own. There is no proper training for placements given by college. also the examination pattern and rules are not too good and flexible. Though BIAS is a brand college and thus standing still today also. secondly it depends on you how you manage to go through your studies .It is an affordable institute in terms of fees where you just get a brand name. you can try in other colleges as well. if you are creative enough then you can do much in this college. hope this helps.
