Dear Krishna,

No! It is not compulsory to have a particular subject in your 12th or equivalent. Any student from any background can pursue mba. However the admission process for top mba colleges is based on entrance examinations such as CAT, CMAT, GMAT, SNAP, XAT etc.  India's top mba institutes, IIMs conducts CAT entrance exam every year in the month of November/December for 2 years of mba programme.

The application process for CAT 2022 is already started from 3rd of August to 14th September 2022. You can apply for the exam on official website of CAT.

Following is the eligibility to pursue MBA degree -

A bachelors’ degree of minimum 3-Years after 10+2 examination, from a recognized board with a minimum aggregate of 50% (45% for SC/ST/PwD).

All the best :)
