Hi Awaiz!

There is no "need" to join a coaching institute as such. It is a personal choice and many chose not to opt for coaching while repeating. But others need that push and regular tests and schedule to prepare.

It is completely up to you, if you feel that you have paid attention during classes and know the basics, then you can opt to self-study at home. If you do this, my advice would be to appear for tests conducted by various coaching institutes i.e., to join a test series since these help in evaluation of your work. There are numerous test series run by various organisations, do your research and join the one which seems fit.

Hi dear,

Hope you are doing well!

Now let's go through your question.

It is completely fine to have self study as the method of preparation for competitive entrance tests. And there are many success stories of NEET toppers without coaching.

Know the syllabus well

Foremost thing you should know for ‘how to prepare for NEET without coaching’ is the NEET Syllabus.

There will be some common topics which you already covered in your board exams so you no need to spend much time on them.

Follow a time-table

Time-table helps you plan and stick to your study routine. A well created time table that allows you to work on your weaker subjects, allots enough time to revision and mock tests, will ensure all areas are covered.

Accumulate Quality Study Material

Spend your money on recommended study material best suited for understanding the concepts and practicing all the topics. But do not buy any and every book that you see.

Mock tests is the key

Practice is the prime key for all entrance tests.

Work on weaker topics

There must be one subject in whom you are strong, you feel more comfortable but there are other subjects where you need to score too.

Be positive

This one of the other most important aspect for how to prepare for NEET without coaching of taking any challenge head-on is to be positive.

*Do not skip sleeping. Try to take a sleep of 8 hours daily to keep your mind and body refreshed. Also, consume healthy food at proper times daily.

Thank You & All the best!
