NO, it is not necessary at all. See if you are seeking admission in B.Sc.(Hons.) in DU then you don't have to appear for DUET which is tan entrance test for admission to some courses offered by DU because DUET is conducted for courses like B.Tech., LLB, BBA/BMS, MA, MCA, M.Sc. and so on.

Admission to B.Sc. Hons. is based on your class 12th merit and you have to directly apply for DU Admissions and there will be no entrance test instead you will be directly participated in counselling and the counselling is totally based upon class 12th merit.

Eligibility for B.Sc. Hons. program offered in DU is "the candidate should have passed 10+2 with minimum aggregate score of 50% with English as a main subject or 60% or more marks in chemistry, biology and physics. "
