But truth is that for petroleum engineering i would say there are few reputed colleges in india who delivers good technical knowledge but if you want to join college for placements and non academic activities than it is would be best to go any iit irrespective of branch and learn coding and any other skill there and you will definitely get placements and good internship but if your goal is to pursue knowledge in Petroleum or chemical engineering i would recommend iipe and also if you want placements in core sector it would be better to come iipe ( not for Petroleum as ongc is not visiting this year but it would visit next year for sure ) as academic wise for Petroleum rgipt is good but not for chemical branch so chose wisely .
