It is definitely good to join  Mtech programme at VIT Vellore. However, this program trains you to work for IT industry and if you want to join the IT industry and you are opting for Integrated program then I would say go for it. Software Engineering program goes beyond teaching simple programming, and instead focuses on modern software engineering principles, tools, and analysis techniques for the design of large and complex software systems.

The initial level courses provide students with a core foundation in programming, mathematical reasoning, physics and circuit design. The later part blends fundamentals in IT programming including software engineering, database management system, computer networks, operating systems and storage technologies, IoT, and cloud computing. You can also choose electives that will help you studying more detailed courses like big data,IoT etc. You will get to study overall the background of Software.

Hands on experience is also important and VIT does make sure you get it. You get to work on some practical project with real time problem statements and also internship. Which will help you in getting job and also excel your overall knowledge.
