Is it essential of the candidate to be present himself for counseling or his parent can attend counseling

It depends on the college and the engineering entrance exam that you have given.

If you are taking admission in VIT then it is not necessary for a candidate to be present during counselling.

Just send a mail to VIT stating your situation and why you won't be able to attend the counselling and any of your family members can attend the counselling on your behalf.

Parents can go for the counselling. You just need to write a letter before the counselling mentioning the reason that why the student won’t be able to come.

It is not necessarily important for the candidate to be present during the Counselling session.Instead, the parent of the candidate could attend it by providing an acknowledgement letter under excusable conditions.

You need a to give letter and the reason why you aren't able to go to the counseling to the person who is going to represent you.
