  Students who have completed +2 under NIOS must have completed the 10th standard from regular schooling or vice-versa. (source).
  GCE A-level or International Baccalaureate(IB) diploma or IB certificate with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as major subjects (equivalent to Advanced Placement level in each subject) in any International schools within India.

Admission process:-

  Eligible candidates need to appear for the SRM Joint Entrance Exam (SRMJEE UG) conducted by the university

• Counselling

  Admission is through counseling based on the rank obtained in SRMJEE (UG). Any Candidate qualified in IIT JEE Main will be admitted directly even if the candidate doesn't take SRMJEEE.
  Also, direct admission to first rank students of all the central and state boards in India, top 1000 rankers in IIT JEE, top rankers in each district of Tamil Nadu and exemplary sportspersons at National and International level.

The course fee and extra fee required for books might be a bit high, but the teaching and education system in SRM (Ramapuram) is pretty good and updated. But also keep in mind the overall fee structure of studying in the college. The rest depends on you. The college excels in educating students, and there is no doubt about it.
