Amity University | M.Tech Admissions 2025
ApplyRanked amongst top 3% universities globally (QS Rankings).
Hello Aspirant,
Congratulations! You have multiple admission options!! Here is a short comparison to help you decide:
If you value core ECE, want to be in Tamil Nadu, then Rajalakshmi Engineering College is a solid options. If however, you have an interest in attending a private university with more academics that are flexible and prepared to relocate: SRM Ramapuram is also an option.
With 235 marks in NEET 2025 and belonging to the SC category it is unlikely that youwill get an MBBS seat in SRM Medical College. SRM is a wellknow private medical college, and itscut-off for SC category candidates usually remains quite high In most previous years SC students needed around 450 to 500 or more marks to secure a seat there. Your score od 235 is much lower than the expected cut-off range for SRM, so the chances are very low. However don’t worry you still have chances in other private medical colleges where the cutoff for SC candidates is lower many private colleges in different states accept students from SC category with NEET scores in the range of 150 to 250 You should apply through your state counseling and also check open seats in private medical colleges with lower cut-offs Even though SRM may not be possible with your score other good colleges can still offer you a seat Keep checking counseling updates and stay ready with all required documents
Hello Shivanshu,
In summary, both SRM University AP & Graphic Era University are decent choices for you, however make sure to weigh up placement, faculty, peer group, research options and fees as deciding factors.

With a SRM Phase 2 rank of 4988 and PCM aggregate of 57.66%, you may still be eligible for admission, as SRM requires a minimum of 50% aggregate in PCM. You can fill your choices like ECE with specialization in Data Science at KTR branch, but final allotment depends on seat availability and cutoff.
You got 27,000 rank in AP EAPCET and you belong to the BCB category. Based on last year’s data, you have a good chance of getting CSE (Computer Science Engineering) in SRM University, AP. The BCB cutoff for CSE in 2023 was around 35,000 in the first round and 22,000 in the second round. Since your rank is in between, you may get a seat in CSE, especially in the first or second round.
For ECE (Electronics and Communication Engineering), the closing rank last year was around 10,000 for BCB, which means your rank is too high to get ECE there.
So, you are more likely to get CSE, but ECE is very difficult with your rank. If you like CSE, then it’s a good choice and you can keep SRM AP in your top list during counselling.
Choice depends on your career goals and interest.
BITS BPharm is a top institute but the course is in pharmacy, not related to computer science or engineering. Choose it only if you are interested in pharmaceutical or research fields.
SRM AP CSE offers good curriculum and infrastructure. It is suitable for students aiming for a tech career and has better scope in computer science.
VIT Bhopal CAE is a specialized course in computer applications and engineering. It is good for students interested in AI, data science, or related fields, but the campus is relatively new.
If you are focused on a career in computer science, SRM AP CSE is a better option among the three. Avoid BITS BPharm if your goal is to work in the tech industry.
Selecting an institution for Electronics and VLSI (Very Large Scale Integration) studies requires careful consideration of several critical factors. It is not solely about surface-level statistics or broad placement claims; rather, the decision should be informed by tangible parameters such as curriculum quality, research opportunities, and industry connections.
To begin with, IIIT Hyderabad stands out as a premier destination for VLSI education. The institute offers a robust, VLSI-centric curriculum and well-equipped laboratories. Graduates frequently secure positions in core semiconductor companies—such as Qualcomm, Intel, and AMD—with median salaries for M.Tech VLSI programs often exceeding Rs15 lakhs per annum.
The Indian Institutes of Technology—specifically in Bombay, Delhi, and Madras—are also excellent choices. These institutions are renowned for their advanced VLSI research facilities and consistently strong placement records, particularly in research and development roles within the core electronics sector.
BITS Pilani should not be overlooked. It maintains strong industry partnerships and provides students with valuable internship experiences. Notable employers include Texas Instruments, Micron, and Nvidia, among others. The alumni network further enhances career prospects.
Among the National Institutes of Technology, Trichy, Warangal, and Surathkal offer impressive placement outcomes, though the number of semiconductor-specific opportunities is somewhat lower than at the IITs or IIIT Hyderabad. Nevertheless, these NITs provide a favorable return on investment and solid training in core electronics.
Private institutions such as VIT Vellore, SRM, and Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham are also options worth considering. While a larger proportion of recruiters may be from the IT or software sectors, opportunities in VLSI are steadily increasing, especially for proactive students.
Key parameters to assess include:
- Faculty expertise in VLSI and Embedded Systems
- Placement ratios in core versus IT companies
- Access to industry-standard CAD tools (such as Cadence and Synopsys)
- Industry tie-ups for internships and research projects
Before finalizing your choice, it is advisable to consult resources like Careers360’s Placement Reviews and College Predictor tools. These platforms provide detailed student feedback and salary trends, offering a more nuanced view than official statistics alone.
If you wish to receive college suggestions tailored to your entrance exam rank and category, please provide those details. This will allow for more personalized guidance in identifying the most suitable institutions for your goals.
(https://www.srmist.edu.in/admission-india/engineering/) Hello Aspirant,
With a SRMJEEE Phase II rank of 4,109, you are eligible for admission to the CSE department at SRM University, Kattankulathur (Chennai) campus. However, as per the official scholarship criteria released by SRMIST, only candidates with ranks up to 194 are eligible for merit-based tuition fee waivers. Since your rank falls beyond this range, you will not be eligible for any scholarship or fee concession. Therefore, the annual tuition fee for CSE at SRM KTR for you will be rupees 4,00,000 per year. This amount is applicable whether you choose core CSE or any of its specialized branches like Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning. For more detailed and updated information, you can refer to the official SRMIST website.
All the best for your admission.
Hello Aspirant,
If you are choosing between CIT Kundrathur and SRM Kattankulathur (KTR) for Mechanical Engineering, your decision should depend on your priorities. SRM KTR is a reputed, NAAC A++ and NIRF-ranked university with excellent infrastructure, flexible curriculum, and better brand value. It offers greater exposure through internships, events, and international collaborations. However, for the Mechanical branch, core placements at SRM are moderate, and many companies are IT-based. On the other hand, CIT Kundrathur is gaining recognition for its focus on core engineering, skill development, and affordable fee structure. It provides strong support for core placements and industrial exposure, though it may lack the brand value and infrastructure of SRM. So, if your goal is campus life, brand name, and varied opportunities, SRM KTR is the better choice. But if you are focused on core mechanical engineering with a better return on investment, then CIT Kundrathur is a practical and smart option.
All the best for your career.
