Srm University is one of the good universities in the south India and the environment in which we study is actually good for us. The college provides too many opportunities to explore yourself and decide your career path and at the same time is strict towards rules and regulations. Being a second year student I think Selecting SRM as your college will among all other options in Tamil Nadu is - 1) good infrastructure 2) well equipped laboratory 3) high quality facilities 4) 24*7 wifi connection (in hostel also) 5) good food 6) connected to city 7) good placement record 8) good industrial exposure 9) diversity of students in college 10) good climate

My College SRM is located in Potheri,Kanchipuram district Tamil Nadu. It is a lush green campus with amazing infrastructure well equipped labs, basket ball courts , tennis courts and an amazing auditorium which can house 10,000 students at a time. There are two big events AARUSH- National level Technical fest and MILAN - National level Cultural Fest. Students from all over India participate in these two fests and it provides a great opportunity to showcase ones talent. The Faculty Members are highly qualified and they provide a good learning experience. Some of the faculty Members are graduated from Reputed Institutes like the IIT , Anna University . There is a diverse culture in SRM . Students come from Jammu Kashmir in the North to Kanniyakumari in the South. The college stands for unity in diversity. Every one are given equal opportunities. The Placement team takes tremendous efforts every year for getting students placed in reputed companies.. Some of the most prominent recruiters include TCS, WIPRO , INFOSYS, COGNIZANT , ACCENTURE and Many more. There is an option where students get to choose their faculty Members of their choise and the elective courses. There is an amazing hostel facilities available with separate hostels for I year students. There are hostels with bath attached and without bath attached. Air Conditioned hostels are also available . On the Whole SRM is a good place to pursue Engineering.

SRM has very good infrastructure, it will definetly reach all your expectations. it provides world class facilities with huge buildings. All the classrooms, labs and library are neat and well maintained with air-condition enabled. all kind of books are available in library.Faculty have good experience and intellect but you need to work yourself to increase knowledge by spending time in the library.SRM provides a great exposure to the real world through many industrial visits.Placements wise also it is a good college, the package varies every year the highest package goes for jobs in Computer science and I.T.

The type of education provided in SRM is inspired from the type of education that has international standard. As students from different varsity study here. The exposure to educational activities as well as co-curriculum activities are abundant here. The infrastructure are great. We have separate hostels for boys and girls for each year. The hostel is spacious and provide WiFi access most of the times. The hostels apart from accommodation provide other facilities like T.V hall, Sports Room, and Newspaper reading room. The hostels are secured with 24 hours CCTV surveillance. The University has separate blocks or buildings for each department. They have well facilitated labs with every equipments possibly required for the student to perform experiments. The Library is humongous with all category of books available at a large sum. The Library also provides research papers and e-materials. The classrooms are spacious with 50 students sitting capacity. The blocks are functioned with A/C and WiFi. The teachers are experienced in the course and very friendly to students. The University has many refreshment spots like cafeteria, juice shops, and snacks shops. The university provides various co-curriculum events.

Founded in 1984, SRM University is a private higher education institution located in the the suburban setting of the metropolis of Chennai .I graduated in 2017 and was a student of B.Tech Automobile Engineering school.SRMU also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, online courses and distance learning opportunities, as well as administrative services.College has a very excellent placements record. The quantity and quality of the companies visiting SRM have increased. This year companies like Amazon, Samsung, Accenture and Dell took the best lot of students. Others like Wipro swept 117 students. TCS filled 112 seats and Infosys hired 121 students of the computer science department. The highest salary offered was 15 LPA and lowest was 2.5 LPA.The faculties are very highly qualified and supportive to students. There are also many societies in our college like drama ,dance ,literature etc.To enhance the creativity and interest of students apart from studies .Every year there is cultural fest organised in college.Though these three years in college I have experienced a wonderful and amazing time there.

Extracurricular activities are a critical component of your college application, and you need to impress colleges with your interests. These activities will become very important later, such as when you are applying to colleges or jobs, because they help you develop your talents, interests, and passions. They can also teach you practical skills like time management, leadership skills, organizing and management skills and so on. The list is endless. Certain activities suggested/ recommended for college students to excel in their career whilst managing to get good score in academics are PUBLIC SPEAKING, READING AND WRITING, RESEARCH PROJECTS, INTERNSHIPS, ATTENDING WORKSHOPS AND CONFERENCES, SPORTS and so on. The list is endless. And you know what? All this is available in SRM University, Chennai. SRM University, Chennai is a great platform to get industrial exposure. It not only provides opportunities for career in engineering, but also in Law, Humanities, Commerce and Biotech. Students from all-over India seek admission here. So you can find rich, diverse culture. Multi-lingual and cultural, talented, uniquely skilled students are the key to carry forward SRM's legacy forward. Techno-Management Fest and Cultural Fest are held annually. It has large Auditorium and infrastructure to inhibit various laboratories and project centers as well. Various internal and external exams are also conducted to keep a regular check on students' assessment. Credit based CGPA system is a good way for the semester result. Weightage is given to subjects based on their significance. The transportation connectivity is really praise-worthy. Easy to approach AIRPORT and RAILWAY STATION, SRM University is built on an apt location. The stay in SRM Hostels is also appreciable. You have great mess food and you not only get South Indian food, but also Chinese, North Indian and snacks.

Best time of my life

Posted on 07 Jun' 17 by Lakshit Arora
Batch of 2020 | B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering
It's located in suburbs of Chennai, a metropolitan city, which is advantageous when compared to many other universities in India. The campus is huge, but still no way comparable to IIT-Madras, which is like a jungle (literally) in the middle of the city. SRM is well connected by local trains to most parts of the city. It is very near to Vandalur zoo and it has got a three star hotel inside the campus for Hotel Management students. As an engineering college, the number of opportunities you get to prove yourself is extremely high. Don’t expect much from the faculty members but you can get amazing funding for all your ideas and you can even start your own clubs and can make a name for yourself. The campus is amazing and there are floor canteens,ACs in each class room etc. The size of the campus is mammoth. You can even make it to MITs if you are dedicated enough and can devote yourself without diversions.

My college provides ample opportunities for those who are willing to walk the extra mile, but what's really missing is the motivating factor to push over those less inclined towards achieving something fruitful. The college life is breezy and smooth with a very diverse branch of students that'll help settle you in.Regarding placements, the college is going through a lean patch as its reputation took a nose dive due to some high profile arrests of the college's management staff.Overall it's a bittersweet experience but one which is guaranteed to leave a deep impression on you, whether that impression is good or bad its completely up to you.

Living and getting exposure to real-world engineering in this University is very much possible with self-help and rigourous use of available resources. While the college faculty falls into the mainstream tradition of going with age-old technology, the resources provide enough scope for self-development as well as breakthrough innovations. The University empowers its students with multifaceted clubs, research teams and culturally diverse fests, and students having migrated from all over India, there is a rich cultivation of interests, practices and projects. While this University draws hefty money to more than sustaining itself, students won't fall short of placement expectations in return of a good academic career as well as multidisciplinary interests.

My experience in SRM University, Chennai campus has been what you could call abysmal. The college looks inviting with its grandeur, but is exceptionally cold hearted, unless you're a South Indian. The mess food is terrible, as expected. The hostels are expensive, and unclean. Most of the professors seem unqualified for their jobs. The techfest and the cultural fest, Aaruush and Milan respectively, though much hyped, are average. In short, you can waste time at SRM, and pay a hefty amount for it, while seeming to be getting an education.

This place can be a great experience to start your endeavour of engineering if you don't end up getting in IIT's or BITS's or other goverment institutions so this private institution is good as it gives you great exposure as well as pratical knowledge which is much needed to sustain in this competitive world. Likewise we have many clubs and startup's in SRM which are funded by institution as well as other sponsors and these clubs have even brought glory to the nation . Even SRM has various art and sports as well as other recreational activities and a good campus which is enough to create a good environment for studies and learning. So though being a private institution it manages to compete other named institutions in the world and they even have tie-up's with various abroad universities. So its good to be here

Srm is one of the expensive college of India that makes a lot of money by not giving adequate services to student as promised, second year classes are very poor, they lack AC and proper benches. They use traditional chalk and even after a lot of money, they can't turn to markers. More than half of classes don't have duster so teachers use hand or paper. The faculty are very racist and don't care about Hindi speakers. Other than that, even after heavy tuition fees there is CDC free and exam fees. I don't like environment as everyone care about their own.

SRM is a famous university with offering in many branches. It has a lot of programmes for different interest. The buildings are nice but some have poor class infrastructure especially in main campus. The major issue is of language and teacher who discriminate and don't treat them equally. Also, I have faced many problem where I don't get good marks just because I'm not girl or south Indian. However, the other things like club, fest are good but the attitude of faculty should change.

University exams are not very difficult. You are given some set of questions and you can expect almost all of the same questions in the exam. Maintaining CGPA is easy.Faculty is not outstanding. Trust me, it\'s alost the same everywwhere. Focus is more on getting you prepared for the job world instead of actually learning through innovation. College curriculum doesn\'t support much innovation or all round development. you just have technical clubs in the college. no cultural activities. Teachers are biased towards South Indians. And the management is busy introducing stupid strict rules with no option of questioning them! attendance is very strict. they say they require 75% but won\'t let you go down even below 85 for the first year! almost anything you do, which the management finds offensive(and that is a huge list) you are expected to write appology letters. stupid meaningless letters with no sign of actual remourse to feed the mangement\'s ego. Overall experience is frustrating and irritating. one feels like running away ASAP.

They are up to date with industry requirements and provide excellent exposure.

The buildings are tall and huge with an extravagant architecture for a college campus. The auditorium is one of the best with great acoustics( But a few college bands have had a problem playing in this). Labs do have adequate equipment, but outdated ones. Complaints to the highest authority can bring in instant changes in things like this. Hostels are well maintainedMost of the teachers are postgrads from the same university or some local college from Anna University. The apathetic nature of professors in the curriculum is one of the main reason for the age old outdated syllabus. It gave a chance for several students to study a semester in MIT, Harvard, UC-Davis etc. TCS, Accenture, Wipro etc., most of the IT companies are the main recruiters here. They offer the standard 3 point something package. There are good opportunities for CS, Mech undergrads as there were few good core companies which offered 6-7 lakhs.

Best Private college for Engineering

SRM is located in chennai which is metropolitan city making it easy for student for transportation and availability of all requirement. The college has a good link with the industry and in future it is going to be stronger.Faculty are interactive and understanding but very few from IIT’s and foreign universities.Lot of opportunities provided to students to develop their profile like, hundreds of clubs, teams like robocon, conrods, camber, and 4ze where students can build their own bots, cars and stuff. If you are really interested in your field then you can do anything in SRM. Hostel are very clean and all the facility ar provided, only problem is food(average food). There are lot of foreign student exchange program are going on soo lot of exposure to outside world. But the college fee is too high like all other private college hence make it difficult for average income family children to take admission

Its been a semester here at SRM and it has been amazing. Being a north indian, there are some problems with the language. But that is a problem when you are out of the campus. In the campus, its obviously english thats mainly used for interaction. The teachers are good and interactive and helpful too. There are lots of opportunities given. Be it sports, academics or any other field. At last i would conclude by saying that its one of the best colleges to be in and you will do enjoy and cherish the 4 years of your engineering here.
