Hi,Yess it is compulsory to have mbbs degree for becoming psychiatry.So,you need to complete 5 year mbbs degree After completing your mbbs degree then complete your internship then take Pg Medical Entrance Exam  and after enroll MD Course in psychiatrist which is duration around 3 year. As,well there are some diploma holder who can also take part in psychiatrist.Hope this helpful for you.Good Luck
