Samyuktha, your CAT score can only help you to be shortlisted at NIT Trichy. For the selection process, you need to appear for their Group Discussion and Final Interview. And NITs need atleast 90 percentile in CAT to be shortlisted for their programmes. The selection process is of 2 phases where the 1st phases is being shortlisted with CAT score and the next phase is going through Group Discussion and Personal Interview. The composite scores are considered for final selection. So, just to answer your question, it is necessary to score atleast 90 percentile for NITs.
