Yes , You can choose one more subject other than your core subject.

Also , GE subjects can be changed at the beginning of every subsequent semester.

I will advised you to take GE subject of you choice , and interest , because main purpose of this course is to seek exposure to a new discipline or a  subject and to provide you with an alternative option for masters (M.A. or M.Sc.).
