Yes, Madan Mohan Malaviya University of Technology is recognised by the UGC. The university has been successfully granted 12(b) status and 2 (f) status of UGC. It is a state university  established by the Government of Uttar Pradesh in 2013 as a non-affiliating, teaching, and research university after the reconstitution of  the Madan Mohan Malaviya Engineering College, Gorakhpur, which was founded in 1962.
