Is NEET exam is compulsory for tamilnadu students to join BSMS ?

HELLO PJ XAVIER,

B.S.M.S. (Bachelor of siddha medicine and surgery) is an undergraduate program in siddha system of medicine, which is the most ancient among the ayahs system.

Students who aspire to become a doctor, but are not able to secure a M.B.B.S seat would generally prefer B.D.S, B.H.M.S, B.S.M.S. the duration of the course B.S.M.S in India is 5.5 yrs with 4.5 yrs of class room study and one year compulsory internship.

The Tamilnadu Dr. MGR Medical University (TNMGRMU) is a government medical university and is the 2nd largest health sciences university in India. The university has different departments which offer a multitude of medical courses at undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG) and doctoral level.

Offers UG and PG courses in Indian Medicine and Homeopathy to those who possess the relevant eligible degree. Admission to the above mentioned programmes is done through marks secured by the candidate in the university en

trance examination.

The University offers the following UG and PG under the Faculty of Indian Medicine and Homeopathy:

UG Courses:

  • B.S.M.S Siddha
  • B.A.M.S Ayurveda
  • B.U.M.S Unani
  • B.H.M.S Homeopathy
  • B.N.Y.S Naturopathy and Yoga

Eligibility: (i) Candidates should have passed in all the subjects of the qualifying examination of the Higher Secondary Certificate Examination (Academic) conducted by the Tamil Nadu State Board / any other equivalent Board in one and the same attempt in the following group of subjects with the minimum eligible marks. A failure in examination reappearance/first appearance, in compartment in one or more subjects will be treated as an attempt.

  • Candidate must have studied physics, Chemistry and Biology/ Botany and Zoology in his/her 12 years study of Higher Secondary Course Examination.
  • According to the latest notification issued by the ministry of AYUSH admission to these programs will be based on NEET scores . hence students should clear NEET UG conducted by CBSE for admission to B.S.M.S.
  • Following is the required aggregate in Biology/ Botany and Zoology, Physics and chemistry together for candidates belonging to different category
  • Selection of the candidates to the above mentioned UG and PG programmes will be done on the basis of marks obtained in the entrance examination, conducted by the university.
