As per your requirement, i would say that organic chemistry is really an important and major part for jee mains. 

Jee mains most of the questions are from ncert, but the the pattern of any questions will be ncert based only.

You need to revise amd practice daily organic chemistry question to score higher in this section. You also refer and practice the previous year jee question to get a fair idea about the questions pattern and how to solve them faster.

What I suggest is, solve previous Organic Questions, and then read NCERT, you will realise, all the questions were from NCERT. If you do vice versa, you may think, that it is not mentioned in NCERT. But almost all things of are mentioned.

By this activity you will also realize, that what and how JEE tends to frame Organic Questions from NCERT for Mains. Very subtle details are take care of while preparing questions.
