Hi

In order to get to the IITs, one needs to perform exceptionally well in JEE Mains and Advanced, both of which test a student on Physics, Chemistry and Maths. None of these 3 sections is optional, and in fact, in JEE Advanced, to make it to the rank list, one has to clear the individual subject cut offs too. If you have some time on your hands, I would suggest you to understand atleast the basics of Chemistry. All the best!
