Dear Antaraa, there is a reason why the foundation course is being held. It is almost a month long programme and MCI has made it mandatory for all 1st year MBBS students to attend it. Falling short in attendance means you might be in trouble. You may set a bad impression and above all, if you fall short of attendance, this might reflect on your exams and you might not be allowed to sit for exams due to shortage of attendance. After going through months of hardwork and sleepless nights and finally making it to a Medical College, you do not want to miss the exams.

I will make up for the attendance in the future. But will there be any penalty for not fulfilling the attendance requirements for the foundation course (and not for the rest of the year) Thank you for your answer.

They have strict guidelines about attending Foundation course. You may have to talk to the Administration.
