You should focus on the subject that you have studied properly.If you find difficulty in solving numerical then go for theory portion.make sure that you score a very good marks in chemistry.During exam select questions smartly,select easiest questions.Work hard there is no shortcut for success.

Talking about tricks, there is no special trick to clear the cutoff marks for any category in any national level examination. You will have to do consistent hardwork and smartwork to get a rank at any national level examination. So i will suggest you to do the preparation properly rather than finding shortcuts to the examinations. I hope you have got the point.
