Dear Kaja,

No, you don't need to give NEET exam for optometry. To be an optometrist, you need to have a Bachelors degree in optometry which is a 4 year course. To become eligible for this course you must have passed 12th class with 50% marks in physics,chemistry and biology from a recognised board.

Dear Kaja,One of the most valuable reason for choosing this career is that, this career is in high demand. Many optometrist are needed all over the country. There are many types of specilizations under optometry which you can opt such as general optometry and family practice optometry. The another benefit is job satisfaction, if you put heart and soul in your job, you will be satisfied. The initial salary of an optometrist in India is around INR 20,000 to INR 40,000 and it could go up to INR 4 to 5 lakhs. Regards
