I've passed HS in 2020, now I'm studying in civil engineering department, but I want a higher branch like CST or IT, if I retake admission in 2021, will it affect my placement due to the year gap. Thank you

Dear student,
No taking a drop and changing your branch won't affect your placement probabilities in future. The companies just want a good employee. Just make sure you do well in whichever field you change to. There are many students who take a drop to get admission in a good college and their preferred branches, so you need not worry about this. Just focus on building a good person out of yourself so that the industry wants you.
