Hey there
For jee mains the eligibility criteria is that you need to score 75% in boards or you are in top 20 percentile in your board exam. Top 20 percentile is also an eligiblity criteria as different boards have different marking scheme and thus Top 20 percentile is there.

There's no percentage barrier to be eligible for JEE mains
But yes,
To be eligible for NITs, IIITs, IITs, GFTIs one needs at least 75% marks in class 12 if belong to general or obc category or at least 65% marks if belongs to SC/ST or must be in the top 20 percentile in class 12 examination.
To be eligible for JEE mains 2020 for BE or Btech you must be either appearing for 12th board exam in 2020 or should have passed it in 2019 or 2018 with Physics, mathematical and anyone of
Chemistry or Biology or Biotechnology or Technical Vocational Subject.

You need 75% and above marks in the three main subjects ie physics chemistry and mathematics and overall you must have 60% and above in your 12th standard from a recognized board or university to get eligible to apply through JEE exams.
