You can register early for GMAT 2-3 months prior to the preferred date or you can register as late as  24 hours prior to test date.
You should choose a date that is at least 21 days prior to your application deadline.

Hello there. Hope you are doing good. I would like to tell you that there are no specific dates for applying to GMAT as the candidate can choose the date of exam as per his convenience. However it must be noted that one cannot exceed five attempts of GMAT exam in a year. And atleast 16 days break must be there between two attempts.
