There is no age limit for the 3 year or 5 year LLB across India.

Though an age limit was introduced by the BCI, it was struck down by the court and it is not expected to come back anytime soon.

If an upper age limit is introduced in the future, it would be prospective, i.e. affect new admissions and not retrospective, i.e. will not affect students already enrolled.

Considering that there is no age limit for LLB and no age limit for the Bar exam or Bar council enrollment, we can say that there is no age limit on becoming an Advocate in India

After the supreme court of India criticized their decision of the maximum age limit of 20 years for taking admission to the 5-year integrated law degree, Bar Council of India as an interim measure decided to increase the upper age limit for 5-year LLB course from 20 to 22, and for 3-year LLB from 30 to 45, reported legal affairs portal Livelaw. According to the report, Bar Council of India took this decision yesterday in a General Body Meeting.

But now the interim measure has been taken after considering confusion caused by the BCI notification among the aspiring students from various universities and law institutes.

And the BCI had also informed the Supreme Court on Tuesday that it will be taking a decision regarding the age limit soon. This year's Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) will be conducted on March 31.
