Directorate of Higher Education, Maharashtra announced the application form for MH CET Law 2019 for three year LLB programme on February 16, 2019, and on for five year integrated LLB programme on January 28, 2019. Candidates who wish to seek admissions into the  law programmes, need to appear in MH CET Law 2019 and qualify it as well.

APPLICATION PROCESS

1.The application process for three year law programme will commence from February 16, 2019. The application process ends on March 11, 2019 for five-year integrated law programme and March 12, 2019 for the three year law programme.

2.Candidates can download the admit card on April 21, 2019 for five-year integrated law programme and by the last week of April 2019 for the three year law programme.

3.After getting the access of the admit card, candidates can appear in the five year integrated law examination on April 21, 2019 and May 11, 2019 for three year law programme. Qualifying candidates of MH CET Law are then made available with the result for five year integrated law programme on May 13, 2019 and for three year law programme by the last week of June.

4. The conducting body then conducts counselling from third week of June to first week of October and the classes begin in the month of November.


ELIGIBILITY

1.As per the MH CET Law Eligibility Criteria 2019 for five-year integrated law programme, candidates should have passed Senior Secondary School Examination/ 12th Board Examination from any recognised educational institution with a minimum of 45 per cent of the total marks in the aggregate of the subjects, which however is 5 % less for those belonging to SC/ST categories of Maharashtra state.

2.Candidates appearing in MH CET Law 2019 to seek admission into the three year law programme, need to have a graduation degree issued by any university or college recognised by UGC and following a 10+2+3 education pattern with at least 45 per cent in the aggregate of the subjects, and 40 per cent for those belonging to SC/ST categories of the Maharashtra state.

3.There is no age bar to appear in the law examination, MH CET Law 2019 for both five-year integrated and three year programme.


SYLLABUS FOR ENTRANCE EXAM

The syllabus of MH CET Law 2019 mentions that the law aspirants will be tested on four different topics namely

  • Legal Aptitude and Legal Reasoning 30
  • General Knowledge & Current Affairs   40
  • Logical and Analytical Reasoning 30
  • English                                              50

For Five year LLB, candidates will be given questions from Maths as well, in addition to the above mentioned subjects.

1.English  includes Reading Comprehension, Vocabulary and Understanding of Grammar. Improve vocabulary and writing by regularly reading magazines like Business & Management Chronicle by Chronicle Publications and Competition Success Review .

2. Maths (If entrance for 5-year programme) which is  Basic elementary maths that you have studied till class X focussing much on number system, mensuration, algebra, simple and compound interest. Learn formulas for mensuration by heart and most importantly practice questions in order to learn the applicability of your concepts.

3.General Knowledge and current Affairs which you prepare from updated external sources. Read editorial columns in newspapers like The Hindu, Economics Time or The Statesman.

4. Logical Reasoning is all about practice and your mental ability to solve questions, which obviously sharpens as you keep practising.

5. Legal Aptitude: This section aims to judge your legal interest and problem solving abilities with respect to law. This is the only section where commerce can aid you by briefing a little about law. Legal reasoning and legal knowledge about some basic laws such as contract law, constitutional law and family law is of utmost importance in this section.

GUIDELINES

Listed below are few tips to help you score better in MH CET Law:

1. Acquaint yourself with the Exam Pattern – While preparing, familiarise yourself with the paper pattern. Doing so will help you in analysing and preparing a proper time-schedule.

2. Prepare a suitable time-table – After going through the pattern and MH CET Law Syllabus thoroughly, prepare a schedule as per your comfort. Since the law exam takes place every year, there is always a plenty time to plan the schedule. Keep the pointers listed below before starting with your preparations:

  • Weak sections and do not know the methods to approach
  • Average sections and need more practice
  • Strong sections which need less attention.

3. Revision of Syllabus – The vast syllabus of law exam can leave anybody in confusion. Hence, you should make notes of each topic as per your understanding. Make sure to revise all the notes at the end of the day or week before proceeding to another section or topic.

4. Keep Yourself Updated – For General Awareness and Current Affairs, it is a must to read newspapers/ magazines/ reading digital content every day.
