NEET is an entrance exam held on national level for admissions into medical colleges every year.  Through NEET students can get admissions intovarious courses in various other colleges of India.

Taking about your point of doing MBBS or B.A.M.S without NEET, see it is not possible because neet examination is must even though you apply through management quota.

In MBBS course, NEET scores hold value as they will be helpful at the time of admissions otherwise you can get admission on the basis of marks scored in class 12th.

B.A.M.S is also a course that will open doors for ayurvedic field, you can try this if you have interest in it but it is not that popular as compared to MBBS.
