To pursue B. Tech lateral entry, you must have completed your B.Sc. degree. Many private universities offer B. Tech lateral entry programs, but the eligibility criteria remain the same: you must have a B.Sc. degree or a diploma. There is usually no age restriction, and you should not have any backlogs. Additionally, a 10+2 background with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics is required.

Specifically for AKTU (Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University), the eligibility criteria are also the same. You must have a B.Sc. degree or diploma to be eligible for the B. Tech program.

Since you mentioned that you have a backlog in your 5th semester, you can not take admission in a university for B. Tech lateral entry.
