The minimum salary you receive after you undergraduation course in civil engineering in India varies from company to company and also depends in your academic background (like the Institute you have studied in, (talking about placements)). Most (around 85 percent) of it depends on the knowledge you have on your core subjects. The average salary in India ranges from anywhere between  6lakhs - 16 lakhs. The minimum (starting) salary one receives is around 3-4 lakhs per annum. In some cases the highest may  go till 20 lakhs per annum depending on your academics and knowledge.

In  India there is comparatively much less salary paid to civil engineer than any other engineers, since civil engineering requires experience, without experience they are of no use, no company wants to hire fresh civil engineers , because in construction safety is the major concern.
About salary -

Graduate civil  Engineers in India drew average entry level salary of Rs.264,000 per annum .

Civil engineers with doctorate degrees start their first jobs with an average annual income of Rs 4 lakh
