Training to become a pilot in India is really an expensive proposition. Only if you  join Indian air force through NDA to become a pilot at air force station then it is free. Here is a list of scholarships

1. India airlines scholarship -amount of about 4 lakh given on merit cum means basis per batch.
2. air India scholarship -same
3. Rajiv Gandhi Foundation -this is for two women pilots of rupees 300000
4. jrd Tata memorial scholarship- about 1 lakh
5. Madras flying club also government scholarship.
