As you have not mentioned about the name of examination so considering your profile then you are an engineering aspirant and you might be interested in JEE-Main. According to the category rank you have mentioned in the question you cannot get any of the NITs as per previous year's cut-offs but I would suggest you to sit for some state counselling because in some of the state government colleges you can get admission on such ranks.

Note that the cut-offs are bound to change every year depending upon various factors.
