Until the time there was jee mains and  advanced with no cet exam in maharashtra ,brightest students of Maharashtra would ultimately opt for coep and vjti cs and lower rank students would opt for it ,extc,mechanical etc.But after jee results are out they would opt for iit ,nit ,bits etc.Remember that most of these students opted for coep and vjti cs.So a huge amt of vacancy would be found there compared to other branches during counselling round as lower rank students would not dare risking their seat for entering counselling round.So if there is no cet in maharashtra then  you may get a cs seat in vjti/coep
But if there is cet there are little(to no)chances of you getting cs in vjti or coep as toppers of cet try for those seats only!!!
