Vidya Vihar Institute of Technology (VVIT), Purnea is not affiliated with Bihar Engineering University (BEU). It is currently affiliated with Aryabhatta Knowledge University (AKU), Patna for its B.Tech programs.

• In March 2023, the Bihar government made it mandatory for all government engineering colleges to affiliate with Bihar Engineering University

• However, private engineering colleges, including Vidya Vihar Institute of Technology, remain with their existing affiliating universities. VVIT is still linked to AKU, not BEU .
