Krishnendu I am sorry to say that with your 8514 general merit rank and 282 SC category rank in the WBJEE exam you have no chance to get a Mechanical or Electrical branch at Jadavpur University. But  you have a high probability of getting the following branches in Jadavpur University:

• Metallurgical Engineering
• Power Engineering/Power Plant Engineering
• Printing Engineering/Printing Technology
• Production Engineering
