17 k in jee mains is a good rank. You may get top NITS but you may get streams like chemical, biotechnology, metallurgy etc. If you are looking for normal NIITS you may get branches like cse, ece 

As you mentioned that you are general category, here are NITS you may get seat based on previous years cut off

1.National Institute of technology, puducherry-cse

2.National Institute of Technology, nagaland-cse
