it is usually advised to fill the choices as per the preference of colleges and departments, for example CSE in NIT Trichy ids priority followed by CSE in NIT warangal, you can fill CSE at NIT Trichy at serial number 1 and CSE at NIT Warangal at serial number 2 and so on and so forth.

but the previous cut off of colleges should be taken in consideration, it is better to research over the cut off of colleges then make a preference list of colleges and fill accordinly

First of all congratulations getting 30000 rank JEE mains 2020. Jossa counselling is scheduled to take place on 6th October 2020 after the Jee advanced result which is on 5th October 2020.

Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA)is responsible for conducting the counseling for undergraduate courses in iits,nits, iiits, or gftis.

JoSAA counselling is conducted in online mode in seven rounds.

Firstly, you have to register yourself from the official website of JoSAA 2020 using your JEE Main application number and password to login on the candidate portal of JoSAA.
After the completion of registration, you are required to fill choices of institutes and courses in which you are interested.
After that you have to lock the choices filled before the last date. You are always advised to fill as many choices available to you as per your rank so as to increase your chances of getting a seat in any college.
And after that, if you get any seat and you accept it then, your have to report to the respective reporting centre to fully claim your seat after document verification.
