Hey bro you are talking about prepration rank in IIT it means that if you got selected for IIT then they will teach you and prepare you for the IIT for the next year for that you will not have to pay any fees and also the test that they will take after the prepration will be different from the IIT so there are very less number of students did get the seat in preparatory so don't expect that much from this rank but it gives opportunity to you get admission in IIT and you are also allowed to fill IIT in your seat allotment
