Hey!
I would suggest you to ask him what he wants to do with his future. If he wants to go for engineering or other branches of science like Bsc or research or any other field.
If he wants to give jee then you can either get him in a coaching ( which I personally don't prefer with school simultaneously as it becomes to pressuring and tiresome) or you can get him the right study materials and encourage and motivate him.
If his concepts are weak then definitely opt for coaching or personal tuitions but he is good at studies then he can surely manage on his own.
He needs to focus on concepts and numericals and give equal weightage to all the subjects.
Some preferred books
HC VERMA (PHYSICS)
DC PANDEY(PHYSICS)
RD SHARMA OBJECTIVE MATHEMATICS FOR JEE (VOL1 AND VOL 2 )
N AVASTHI FOR PHYSICAL CHEMISTRY( NUMERICALS)
ABC CHEMISTRY/O.P TANDON (PHYSICAL CHEMISTRY THEORY)
JD LEE FOR INORGANIC CHEMISTRY
SOLOMON AND FHRYLE FOR ORGANIC CHEMISTRY
Except this regular solving of mock tests available on the internet and old iit question papers
Remember to constantly support him. He might feel tiresome sometimes and it is okay.....don't put too much pressure on him. Clearing Jee is not the assessment of his ability.
You can apply for some private colleges like VIT, BITS PILANI, MANIPAL MIT, as well.
But if wants to pursue any other field ,let him
Their are vast opportunities out their and everyone doesn't have to be an engineer to be successful and happy.
