Yes your son can start preparing from now onwards by enrolling in some foundation course but I would possibly advice NO.

Foundation courses are good if they are from a very popular institute. rather I would suggest that your son studies and clears his basics till class 11. From class 11 he can start his serious preparation

He can start from now only if he wants.
He can get himself enrolled in a foundation course although one can do without foundation course too.
Just ask him to slowly start making a habit of studying for a longer duration .
If he joins foundation surely there will be some advantages he will be able to understand things quickly but it depends on you because one thing is clear if you want to enter in medical field you will have to study for a really long time I mean it's not these 2 years of 11th and 12th it's almost 8 years after that too . so depends on you only .
And please ask him to do what he like because once entered he won't be able to switch lines.
