As per the new NEET 2018 Eligibility rules, candidates must have undertaken 2 years of regular and continuous study of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology at 10+2 level. This means that your Class XI and Class XII must have been pursued in consecutive years with the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English in both.
So unfortunately, going strictly by the NEET 2018 eligibility criteria above, you will not be eligible for admissions through NEET.
However, I will urge you not to lose hope. A lot of controversy has been generated due to these NEET rules and certain education activists are planning to file a petition with the Supreme Court soon to demand for their revocation.
While we do not know what the outcome will be, please note that the online NEET application page is currently accepting applications from all candidates, irrespective of when they completed their Class 10, 11 and 12 or whether they took a gap in between.
I would recommend you go ahead and fill the form in this case, continue with your preparations and appear for NEET. By the time the result is declared and counselling begins, the Supreme Court may announce its verdict, or better still, the CBSE may take back the rule for this year. Stay positive and hope for the best!
Wishing you all success!
