Although a basic understanding of elements and a general Fundamental knowledge about organic chemistry is required for understanding certain subjects like biochemistry expertise in organic chemistry is not at all a requirement for studying MBBS.
A doctor is not chemist but you have to study certain drug actions on body and for that the fundamental knowledge of organic chemistry is necessary.
