Hello,

Yes, NEET is absolutely mandatory for admission of MBBS course, even for admission of management quota in private medical colleges passing NEET against one's respective category is compulsory, NTA is the conducting authority for NEET,

In order to appear for NEET candidates are required to fulfill the following criteria;

Attained 17 years by 31st December of the appearing year.

Passed or appearing 10+2 from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English as core subjects.

PCB Aggregate inclusive of theory and practical needs to be achieved against one's respective category-

  • UR - 50%
  • SC/ST/OBC - 40%
  • PWD - 45%

As of now there is no upper age limit for NEET till Supreme Court passes any judgment regarding the same hence no more restrictions in number of attempts, apart from MBBS the scores of NEET are mandatory for admission of following courses;

  • Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS)
  • Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (B.A.M.S)
  • Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS)
  • Bachelor of Naturopaathy and Yoga Sciences (BNYS)
  • Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (B.U.M,S)
  • Bachelor of Siddha Medicine and Surgery (BSMS)

other than this, NEET is accepted for Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry(BVSc & AH) accounts for AIQ 15% seats, and Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) for states like Maharashtra,

From last year even admission into BSc Nursing is being done in various colleges such as JIPMER/GGSIPU/BHU to name a few, in institutes like Jamia Hamdard NEET scores are accepted for BPharm admission.

Yes, for colleges in India NEET is compulsory. There are other alternatives like state level exams. Also, you could explore options abroad in Russia, Philippines, Malaysia, etc. which offer MBBS degrees with lesser fees and world class infrastructure.
