Hi

You have not mentioned the category you belong to so I am  assuming  you from general category

It's quite difficult to predict that whether you will get  seat or not as  cut off marks for medical colleges keeps changing every year  depending upon various factors like  number of students that appeared in the exam, kind of marks obtained by them , toughness level of the examination etc.

But when we go through previous data then it suggests that with 490 marks you hold low chance to get seat in  Government Medical College

For example,
In neet 2019,  518 marks  for general category was the lowest marks to get a seat in a government medical college under West Bengal State quota and it was for  COOCHBEHAR GOVT MEDICAL COLLEGE AND HOSPITAL

You have  chances in private medical college and deemed universities

To get the list of colleges in which you have chances, you can go through our college predictor at

Hello Aspirant,

As you have not mentioned your Home state so considering it as West Bengal according to your profile and category as general.

See it is little bit difficult to predict exactly whether you get seat in government college or not because different colleges have different cut-offs for State quota and All India Quota. Also, cut-offs are bound to change every year depending upon various factors such as the number of candidates appearing in an examination, the number of candidates qualifying an examination, difficulty level of the paper, and so on.

But although according to the marks you have mentioned in the question you have chances of getting into some Private Colleges and Deemed Universities but very low in Government Medical Colleges according to previous year's cut-offs which you can check out from the link given below :-

https://medicine.careers360.com/articles/neet-cutoff-west-bengal

Last year the lowest cut-off marks was 518 for COOCHBEHAR GOVT MEDICAL COLLEGE AND HOSPITAL under Home State quota for General category.

To have a list of those colleges which you can get based upon your marks, category, and state you can use NEET College Predictor:-

I hope this information helps you.

Good Luck!!
