The various colors you observe in the flame like metal are due the presence of elements in the wood. In terms of elemental composition The wood is made of mainly carbon, oxygen ,hydrogen and nitrogen.

Beside these elements there are trace elements also which depend on species to species these includes magnesium, copper, iron , sodium etc. When wood is burnt these elements impart the color to the flame.
