Can u suggest something for the Gk section especially coz the questions are literally from around anywhere and I'm having trouble finding any book really to prepare for it?

Well the best way to prepare for GK is reading the newspapers. You can also search about the websites. I used to prepare from gktoday, affairscloud, etc. You can see if they provide apt information acc to the design paper. And you must read about art and design gk. Yes exactly that-- I'm having trouble with finding out the question type....on other sites it was suggested to prepare for gk by LUCENT but as i was reading through i didn't quite see how it wud help me with nid questions

I dont think they'll be asking about the world wars or any such thing so i dont want to waste time by reading things that will be of no use in my paper. So now u see thats the problem-- determining the questions' type They r definitely not from these books.

So where to prepare from for aptitude portion of test besides the book --nid DAT by rs agarwal?

Hey Shivani, I would suggest you to stick with newspapers for gk as they are the best and read more about inventions and innovations made in the field of Design. Read about people who have genuinely contributed to the world of design. Books are of limited use. But of course you can read relevant ones and do read magazines related to Design and all.You should have knowledge about daily current affairs, basic science/technology awareness.  You can also read the manorama year book for gk. Go through previous years' papers and analyse them and the questions that are repeated over the years and prepare the topucs accordingly. You can try the book "The Big Book of Brain Games".
