Hi Puneet- Your branch is missing. Concept should be clean and clear and referring to books is totally another thing. Yes you should prefer some good books depends on your branch. Also give as many mocks as you can. Without skipping the difficult ones. Try, practice and solve as many possible. GATE is an extensive paper and mugging up things won't actually help so the best thing you can do is understand the basics. Do mention your branch so that I can refer you few books accordingly.
