Both have different scope and purpose. B.el.ed is for teaching line whereas botany deals with  reproduction, metabolism, development and disease of plants.

Efforts and time dedication shall be less in teaching line than botany though it depends completely.

You will have to decide which field you are interested in as scope is there in both fields.
