See I would say, if you have a comprehensive knowledge of statistics, the career as a Data Scientist will be of a much more influence. So if you want to have a more fundamental level of learning with strong basics and a much more illustrious future, then my suggestion will be for you to go for the course of BSc statistics followed by MSc in Data Science. This will shape your knowledge ahead and it can be really beneficial for you.
