As per the MCI issued guidelines, people with visual disability are eligible to apply for NEET 2019 but you will have to check the disability score.

Persons with a visual disability of 40% or more shall not be eligible to pursue Graduate Medical Education. Persons with visual disability of less than 40% are eligible to pursue GME, but do not qualify for reservation as the extent of visual impairment is less than the benchmark definition of Low Vision.

According to the guidelines, low vision refers to a condition in which an person has any of the following conditions -

  • Visually acuity not exceeding 6/18 or 20/60 and less than 6/60 or 20/200 (Snellen) in the better eye with correcting lens; or

  • Limitation of the field of vision subtending an angle of more than 20 degrees upto 40 degree.
