A rank of 196000 in jee mains and a score of 46.80% is a bit low mark to score for National Institutes of Technology admissions. The competition keeps increasing by the day and hence the required score keeps increasing for getting into high ranked universities like NITs. Since you have not mentioned the course you intend to take I would say that there are some lower ranked universities into some of the newer NITs such as NIT Agartala, NIT Pondicherry or NIT Andhra Pradesh.

Some of the courses that you can take are metallurgy, marine engineering etc.
