Hello

In general Most institutes offering the course admit students based on their performance in a relevant entrance test. Some institutes conduct their own entrance tests for offering admission. Admission process generally varies across colleges. For example

  1. ICAR :This exam is held for all the agricultural universities/colleges throughout the country. All the agriculture colleges have 15 % reserved seats for students who clear this exam. Also there are some deemed universities which have 100% seats reserved for the students clearing this exam.
  2. BHU :It conducts its own university entrance exam for admissions in agriculture colleges in BHU.
  3. State Agriculture Test : Every state conducts its own exam for admissions to the agriculture colleges in its own state.

A few institutes also provide direct admission based on the candidate’s score at the 10+2 level.

Candidates who have qualified the All India Entrance Exam of ICAR are eligible for admission to agricultural universities that offers forestry, agriculture and fishery courses in all of the states in India. The basic eligibility criterion for pursuing the course is a 10+2 or equivalent qualification in the Science stream, from a recognized educational Board, with a minimum aggregate score of 50%.

Admission to the course is based on the candidate’s performance in a relevant entrance exam, or merit obtained in the last qualifying exam

However this year kerela is conducting admissions to agriculture on basis of neet.

The admissions to other Medical courses such as Ayurveda [BAMS], Homoeopathy [BHMS], Siddha [BSMS] & Unani [BUMS] and Allied courses such as Agriculture [BSc (Hons.) Agri], Forestry [BSc (Hons.) Forestry], Veterinary [BVSc. & AH] and Fisheries [BFSc.] course in the Kerela State for the year 2019-20 will also be made from the rank list prepared by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations based on the score of the candidates in NEET-UG 2019. Candidates who have appeared in NEET (UG)-2019 and opting for admission to Medical courses such as MBBS, BDS, Ayurveda, Homoeopathy, Siddha & Unani and Allied courses such as Agriculture, Forestry, Veterinary and Fisheries shall have to submit online their NEET (UG)-2019 result details to the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations for preparing the respective State rank lists.
